MULTNOMAH COUNTY, Ore. - The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly shooting that occurred at Chinook Landing Marine Park in Fairview.

MULTNOMAH COUNTY, Ore. – The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office coordinated a multi-agency effort resulting in the successful rescue of a critically-injured teenager who fell down a 100-foot embankment while hiking the Elowah Falls Trail, east of Warrendale. The rescue included a combination of ground teams, including the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office Green Hornets, Cascade Locks Fire, Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue (MCSO SAR) and Pacific Northwest Search and Rescue (PNW SAR).

On July 12, 2026, at approximately 2:05 pm deputies from the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) responded to a 911 call reporting a person who was seen swimming near Sand Island appeared to be in distress and did not resurface.  Sand Island is located on the east end of Rooster Rock State Park and sits within the Columbia River.
