Published
The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) and the Reynolds School District (RSD) need your help identifying a thief who stole six catalytic converters from school buses over Memorial Day weekend.
On the morning of Tuesday, May 27, 2025, a Reynolds School District employee discovered the theft after arriving at the RSD Bus Depot. It was determined that sometime during the holiday weekend, six catalytic converters had been cut and removed from school buses parked at the facility. The Reynolds School District estimates the total cost to repair the affected buses to be between $35,000 and $40,000.
Surveillance footage captured images of the suspected thief and the white Ford van he was driving. We need the public's help identifying the suspect seen in the photographs.
Anyone who recognizes the person in the photo or the white Ford van is urged to contact the MCSO Tip Line at 503-988-0560 or email tips@mcso.us. Please reference case number 25-20343.
