We are pleased to announce the opening of the new MCSO Training Facility in East Multnomah County.  This facility has been designed to meet a variety of the complex, and often costly, training needs for Law Enforcement, Corrections, and Parole and Probation officers.  Furthermore, the equipment and space within the facility was designed to deliver quality, safe, and realistic training scenarios at a tremendous cost savings.

The MCSO Training Facility features an almost 3,000 square foot Con-Sim room that can accommodate up to 40 students at a time.  The room is equipped with a retractable vinyl curtain with clear viewing area so that students can safely observe their classmates engaged in Con-Sim exercises.  Vehicles can be incorporated in the training scenarios utilizing the room’s large bay door.  This room can be darkened to simulate nighttime or low light conditions.  When this room is not being used for Con-Sim training, it can be covered in gym mats and used for defensive tactics training.  This room is also designed and equipped to conduct ORPAT testing.  The Con-Sim room is versatile and equipped to provide space for a large variety of training needs.

The Training Facility also has a classroom that is technology-based.  It is equipped with the MILO Range Pro v4 system to deliver hundreds of the latest realistic use of force scenarios designed to test decision making, reaction speed, and accuracy.  When the MILO Range is not in use, the technology classroom can be set to accommodate up to 20 computer stations to teach students the latest systems being used such as the forthcoming REJIN database.  This technology classroom is truly a unique learning environment within our region.
