I
need to get a copy of a police report?
The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office Records Unit only
maintains police reports written by Multnomah County Sheriff’s
Office deputies. If the report was taken by another agency you
need to contact that agency directly. All requests for Multnomah
County Sheriff’s Office police reports must be submitted
in writing, and be accompanied with the correct fee payment. There
is no charge to crime victims.

report is releasable, call 503-261-2810.
The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office towed my vehicle,
how do I get it back?
Any questions about towed vehicles may be answered by calling
the Records Unit at 503-261-2810.
Vehicles towed by the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office
will not be released without a written form issued by the Records
Unit at 12240 NE Glisan. There is a $35 processing fee which must
be paid in full and with cash only. Bring the exact amount as
change is not available at the office. If the driver of the vehicle
was cited for no insurance, proof of insurance is required before
a release will be issued. If you are not the registered owner
of the vehicle, you must provide documentation that proves that
have a legal right to the vehicle.
All towing and storage charges are the responsibility of the owner,
and must be paid before the vehicle will be released.
I had an accident, do I have to fill out an accident form,
where do I get one, and can I drop it off at the Sheriff’s
Office?
The Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles’ rules and regulations
determine whether or not an accident form must be submitted.

Forms can be obtained at any police department and also online
Completed accident forms must be either dropped off at a DMV office
or mailed to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
The Sheriff’s Office is no longer able to accept these forms.
How do I obtain a restraining order against someone?
Restraining order applications are available at the Multnomah
County Courthouse locate at 1021 SW 4th room 211, Monday through
Friday from 8-5. Additional information on obtaining a restraining

I
had a friend/family member, etc. serve a protection order for
me, what do I do next?
The person who served the protection order (who cannot be the
petitioner) must bring the completed, signed, and notarized Third
Party Proof of Service form to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s
at 12240 NE Glisan.
Can I have a document notarized at the Sheriff’s
Office Records Unit?
The Sheriff’s Office only provides notary service for Sheriff’s
Office related business.
How can I get an arrest record expunged?
Contact the District Attorney’s Office of the county in
which the arrest occurred.
How do I get a copy of my criminal history?
Personal criminal history records are maintained by the Oregon
State Police. To obtain a copy of your criminal
history, contact the Department of State Police in Salem, Oregon,
at 503-378-3070, or visit the OSP
website
I want to find out if I have a warrant for my arrest?
For warrant information, contact the Multnomah County Courts at
503-988-3235. If you wish to turn yourself in on a warrant, you
may come to the Sheriff’s Justice Center or Hansen Building,
or any local police agency (not all are staff 24 hours a day).
I need to report a crime; How do I do it, can I come to
the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office to report it?
If it is an emergency call 911. If it is not an emergency and
the crime occurred in Multnomah County, call 503-823-3333.
It is an option to come the Sheriff’s Office to report a
crime. However, depending on the location of occurrence and the
fact that most of the deputies are in the patrol districts and
not in the building, the next available patrol officer may be
dispatched to the building to take the report.
