Health
care in the Multnomah County Correctional Facilities is provided
by the Multnomah County Health Department. Corrections Health provides
services which promote and protect the health and mental health
of the adults and juveniles in our care.
Each individual who enters the jail system is evaluated by a nurse.
The Justice Center and Inverness Jail have health care staff on
duty 24 hours a day. Nurses are in the housing areas 3 times a day
to address the health, mental health and dental needs of patients.
We are legally bound to keep confidential, all health, mental health
and dental care information of our patients.

Frequently
Asked Questions
How
can my family member or friend obtain the care they need?
Each individual may fill out a form requesting an evaluation by
a health professional for a medical, mental health or dental concern.
After the evaluation is completed, a care plan is made with the
patient.
Should I bring my family member's prescribed
medication to the jail?
It is not necessary to bring in medications because
we talk to patients in order to obtain a health and medications
history so we can make a plan for care while in jail. We verify
medications with the persons community provider, clinic or pharmacy.
Medications are provided by the corrections health pharmacy.
