How do I find out if someone is in jail in Multnomah County?
You can check the public Jail Information website or you can call the jail information line at 503-988-3689.

How do I find out when someone is going to court?
If the person is newly arrested and has not yet been to court, you can call the Jail Information line at 503-988-3689. If the person has been in jail for more than a day or two, you must call the Multnomah Court Information line at 503-988-3235.

Can I find out if there is a warrant out for my arrest?
You can call the Court Information line at 503-988-3235.

How do I bail someone out of jail?
Bail information is displayed on the public website at www.mcso.us. It is advisable to call the jail information line at 503-988-3689 to find out exactly how much money you will need. Some bails require 10% to be posted and some require full bail. There are no bail bond companies in Oregon.
Bail can be posted only at the Justice Center between the hours of 7:00 am and 10:00 pm.

Where is an inmate located?

Can I find out when an inmate will be transferred to another county or prison?
Transfer/transport information is not public information.

Can I get a message to an inmate?
Due to the volume of inmates in our system, we are unable to deliver messages to inmates. You may write to the inmate via the U.S. Mail.

Can I find out what time an inmate is being released?
Once an inmate is approved for release, the process can take as long as 4 or 5 hours. We do not give out release times because of the unpredictability of the timelines.

What are an inmate’s charges and what are the statuses of those charges?
You can check the public Jail Information website or you can call the jail information line at 503-988-3689.

How do I get information on the weekends?
The public information line (503-988-3689) is answered 24 hours a day every day.

Can I get a copy of my mug shot to use for identification?
Mug shots cannot be used for identification. They are stamped with a message directing that it can not be used for I.D. However, you may obtain a mug shot at the Justice Center, 1120 SW 3rd, Room 201 between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm. Mugshots cost $10 each for black and white or color photos. We accept cash, money orders or cashiers checks. Exact change only.

How do I obtain a copy of my criminal history?
You can obtain your criminal history from the Oregon State Police.

Can I get jail information on anyone?
Yes. Custody information is public information so you may obtain information on anyone who has been incarcerated. Our jail records are available from January 1986 to the present.
