of Local Resources
The
Domestic Violence Enhanced Response Team, called DVERT, provides
a coordinated intervention for domestic violence victims and offenders
through partnership with local law enforcement agencies, victim
service providers, and other partners in the criminal and civil
legal systems.
DVERT is a nationally recognized model of intervention for high-risk/high
lethality domestic violence cases. DVERT is co-located with the
Portland Police Bureau's Domestic Violence Reduction Unit.
The Multnomah County Sheriff's Detective assigned to DVERT works
with Portland Police Officers and Advocates with high-risk/high
lethality domestic violence cases. These cases involve the Detective
to enhance the safety of the victim and their children who are at
high-risk for re-assault, ensure appropriate containment of offenders
who are at high risk to re-offend or have the potential for lethal
violence, and partner with other local law enforcement agencies.
The Multnomah County DVERT Detective also takes on the role of investigating
Stalking complaints that occur in the County, as well as teaching
Stalking Training to new police officers and community partners.
